About EX Chess

EX Chess is a free browser game with five chess variants: Must Capture, Shadow King, Invader, Traps and Vanish. There's no download and no account. Open the page and press Play.

You can play the computer at five levels, get matched with whoever is waiting, or send a friend an invite link. Finished games go into the public games list, where anyone can replay them. No player names are recorded.

Who makes it

EX Chess is made by a solo developer. It grew out of EX Shogi, the same set of ideas applied to Japanese chess, and it's the chess version of those five rule changes.
